I've been listening to college radio, and commercial alternative stations since 1982. KXUL is one of the finest, if not possibly the best.
I just heard some band cover a old Buzzcocks song "Fallin in Love with". Who's doing the cover? Is there anyone local interested in playing this kind of music? (Iggy Pop, MC5, Clash, etc.)
(From a dot-mil address) Military ... Oh how friggen boring it can be sometimes ... good thing i have you guys to pick my a** back up!
91X is the bomb, i found it about a year ago and since, I've been adicted. it has all of the types of music that i didn't even realize that i liked because u can't get it anywhere else. I found a new band that 91X dosnt play and i hope that they will add "FAMILY FORCE 5" to their music library. the only album that i know of at this time is "BUISINESS UP FRONT/PARTY IN THE BACK" (2006). But like i said 91X is just freekin awesome. keep doin wachu do 91X. rock on.
Just letting you guys know I really dig the station. You're always playing new and interesting music, and since moving to Monroe for the summer I've broadened the genres in which I hold interests in. Who knew I'd actually like emocore? Beautimous, your kung-fu is.
I recently heard "life on the line" while listening ... I thought that it was a good song, but when i searched for the cd i found nothing (internet, itunes, Sam Goody) ... Where Can I get this CD?!!
I've been searching for over 5 years now for a song once played on this radio station. The song was played sometime around 2000 - 2001. I don't know the name of the song or the band and have never heard it played anywhere but here. All I can remember is a chorus section with the words "Break them bones". This song has a gothic/ghostly sound to it. The main vocals are a sort of whispering duet between a man and a woman. Sound familiar? I'm stumped!
I heard this song a long long time ago and i don't remember what it was. The song lyrics go: "to the lord, praises be, suppers in the kitchen so let's go eat, we got some beans and some good corn bread, now listen to what the preacher said" (repeats). It had this gospel feel to it and i never caught the name, and maybe it was on a sunday but i don't think so. maybe it was on another station and im loosing my mind.
I heard a song the other day and I was unable to get on here to see who it was or even catch an artist or song name. However the only line I remember is "crying crying crying (not sure how many times they say that) until you cannot not sleep." And I think the next part of the chorus was "crying crying crying until you cannot breathe."
Recently you guys have been playing a new Editors song, "Heads in Bags," which I really love. However, that song wasn't on the band's most recent album. Is it on some single or promo or what? Keep up the great work, by the way - I've been a dedicated listener for 15 years now, and I see no reason to stop.
